Back the Books!
UPDATE (2/15/2015)!
Our Kickstarter campaign funded in late 2013, and due to my being in the hospital with diabetes and then moving cross-country when we bought our first house, the comic was on an unplanned hiatus through most of 2014. We're currently finishing formatting on the e-books for a late February 2015 release!

If you're in Columbus in April, stop by our table at Small Press Alternative Comics Expo (SPACE) and say hi!

Jan 27: Thank you for all your help in the Webtoons contest! Thanks to all your help, within a day or two of the end of the contest, Woohooligan was still amongst the top 5% rated! :D Results of the competition will be announced in a few days at midnight on Jan 30. I suspect my LOL Rat submission won't be announced as a winner, not because it wasn't a great entry, just because there was a lot of competition and LOL Rat didn't get as many favorites or social media shares as many of the other similarly-rated strips. So you guys have really helped me see that I'm in a good place with Woohooligan, making the comics better every week! Maybe in another year or two, I'll be at that level where I might win this kind of contest. :D

If this is the first you're hearing of the contest and you've read through the Woohooligan archive, you can see the extra comics I made just for the contest over at the Webtoons site.

woohooligan Ahh, the mating call of the wild nerd! This is how I met my wife. Take it from a guy who's on his second marriage, chicks dig nerds! (Don't miss the guy in the viking costume!) It's true. If you can't think of anything else, just start quoting Star Trek. I suppose Ayn Rand might work too, but then you're just going to get women who see your marriage as a business investment. ;P

This gag occurred to me right after I finished up the recent story arc about a fetish panel at a local comic convention that was based on true events.

You nerds like women, right? Check out this nerdy woman in the alternate ending. (For about a week until the next comic is published.)

You know what else chicks dig? The Woohooligan Facebook Page! And being called chicks. I don't know why... I know they like small animals, probably has something to do with that.

What's your favorite bit of funny/bad dating advice?

Britarse Love/Hate - I love this comic, therefore I hate you!

There I am setting up a webcomic with various different chapters allowing some short gags, some ongoing stories, some satirical, some slapstick etc, only to find you've been doing it longer and (at least some of the time) better! AAARGH! And that guy who does Holy Cow isn't bad either!

Actually I was hoping to exchange links from your comic to mine, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Advice, please?

woohooligan Heh. Thanks, Limey! I added Cockeyed Comix to my links page.

If you want to add a links page to Cockeyed,

1) go to the ComicFury home page, go to "Your Webcomics" at the upper left.

2) Select "Manage" on the left side of the menu for Cockeyed

3) Select "Create an extra page" at the very bottom of that menu.

If you haven't modified the html layout for your comic, I think it will show your new links page in the menu automatically once you've created it.

Is this supposed to be Dante and Randal from Clerks? If not, that's a very odd coincidence. This even sounds like a conversation they'd have!
woohooligan 7th Aug 2013, 8:45 PM
woohooligan You nailed it! <3 Yep, this is an homage to the characters from clerks.

I had already written the dialogue before I decided to give them names and I thought, "that sounds like Randal", so I decided to make it a Clerks reference. :)

I don't know that the Dante from Clerks is the kind to get his dating advice from Sci-Fi movies though. :P
